Cheers & Jeers

Cheers to Dear Evan Hansen! It was just announced that this Broadway show is going to tour the country in 2018. Since I just saw Hamilton, this musical has moved up to number one on my must-see list! The story by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land) is so original and important, every song is great, and Ben Platt in the title role is outstanding! Well, that's what I've heard at least. I know I won't be able to see him, but I'm excited to see the show regardless.

Cheers to Zac Efron as Ted Bundy! I am so into this casting news! Ted Bundy grew up 30 minutes from me, started killing (and kidnapping, raping, and burgling) at University of Washington, and went on to murder at least thirty women in seven states. My mom told me she was terrified of him as a teenager. I know there have already been five movies about him, but I'm so curious to see Zac play this handsome, charismatic, completely evil serial killer.

Cheers to Arrested Development! After a few teases from Jason Bateman, a fifth season has finally been officially announced and will be on Netflix in 2018. In a press release, creator Mitch Hurwitz said, “In talks with Netflix we all felt that stories about a narcissistic, erratically behaving family in the building business—and their desperate abuses of power—are really underrepresented on TV these days." LOLOL!

Cheers to Tom Holland! I'm sure everyone has seen this by now, but I can't get enough. Tom Holland (your newest Spider-Man) performed Umbrella on Lip Sync Battle a few weeks ago. I was not expecting this! I honestly didn't know much about him, except that he played the son of Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor in the movie The Impossible. After watching this clip and seeing that he clearly has a background in dance, I looked him up and found out he made his West End debut in Billy Elliott the Musical. This 21-year old Brit is going places, guys!

Cheers to Zima! You may have seen my love notes about Zima on social media over the weekend. For those of you who don't know, Zima was was created by Coors as "Zomething different" than a regular beer during the heyday of things like Crystal Pepsi and wine coolers. The sugary citrus flavored malt liquor was only 4.7 percent alcohol and consumed by high schoolers across the country in the late-90s. Honestly, it was pretty gross, but compared to the terrible taste of light beer, my friends and I always chose a six pack of Zima for a party. Some dropped Skittles into the bottom of the bottle to customize the flavor, but we were all about the Jolly Ranchers. The day after I posted about this pin I'm was dying for (update: I ordered it!), Zima announced via Facebook that it's coming back from the 4th of July through Labor Day. What?! I'm totally getting some!

Jeers to fall revivals. I stopped watching Will & Grace about three seasons in so I won't be tuning into that at all. And then there's Roseanne. I loved that show, so part of me is excited for the 8-episode series and I will be watching, but I think it'll be strange. Are they going to pretend the entire last season didn't happen? I hope so!

Jeers to Katy Perry haters. I'm not a KatyCat. I loathe twice as many songs as I love. Her new tune, Swish Swish, is apparently a clap back to Taylor Swift's Bad Blood and people (including Ruby Rose who stuck up for Tay on Twitter) are giving her a lot of crap for it. Why? Didn't Taylor do it first? I don't see why Katy is the bad guy here. Sensitive songwriters, man. The song is mediocre, but I couldn't stand Bad Blood, so it wins in my book. Plus, I like Nicki Minaj's verse!

Jeers to Michael Jackson: Searching for NeverlandLifetime is back at it again with the celeb biopics. This weekend, you can watch the latest one based on the book, Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days. It's told through the eyes of his bodyguards and will reveal the devotion Michael had to his children and the hidden drama that took place during the last two years of his life. Hmmmm... After that Britney Spears atrocity, I don't think I'll be tuning in. I will be watching the Menendez brothers one in June though! Courtney Love plays their mom!

I love Cheers & Jeers!

I don't love Zac Efron, but I'm very intrigued by this casting. I'll watch.

I'm thrilled for new Arrested Development. Love that show so much!

The Tom Holland video is amazing. He's such a great dancer.

I never liked Roseanne. I liked Will & Grace, but never saw the whole series. I'd like to start it from the beginning, but can't find it anywhere.

I don't ever watch any of the Lifetime movies. Jeers to all of them!

I'll probably grab some Zima, but I bet I think it's nasty now.

I missed the boat on the Zac Efron love, but I do have a bit of an infatuation with his abs. I am really curious to see how he handles Ted Bundy. It's crazy that he was from your area. When I lived in Utah, a couple of my friends' moms had actually met him. He even asked one of them out on a date once, but she turned him down because she had a boyfriend. Crazy, huh??

Tom Holland. That video is made of pure awesome. I was indifferent to the new Spider-Man until I saw that video.

I was kind of meh about Will & Grace, but the ending was so bad that I have never been remotely interested in reruns. And I am not even a little bit looking forward to its return. As for Roseanne, I heard they may be going with the "Dan faked his death" storyline, which sounds horribly lame. Dan wouldn't have done that.
