Easter Weekend

Our weekend was insanely busy, but I kinda loved it. I had my little brother over here on Friday (he's ten and didn't have school that day) and went shopping for Easter stuff and new shoes for the kids. How cute are Nolan's new Vans?!

Jacob and I hung out together that night until he went to sleep and I stayed up way too late finishing Vanderpump Rules season two. I started watching that show after randomly catching the season two reunion special and thought it was so nuts, it was bound to be my new favorite show. I just noticed last week that the first two seasons were added to Hulu so I watched them both in record time. I always get really invested in a show and it's characters when I binge, but did not expect to be so emotional about Jax and Stassi during the first season! I cried along with her in every episode. Also, PMS.

Jacob has been working weekends since November. He only gets the fourth weekend in a row completely off, and that's not happening until this weekend. So while he was at work on Saturday, I had to drag the kids to the caucus with me. This was only my second time caucusing. (I was out of town in 2004 and didn't live in my precinct in 2000), but I really like it. Everyone is so respectful and the conversations were productive. My kids were surprisingly interested in the process!

Then we went to our neighborhood's annual Easter Egg Hunt. Though it was more like a mad dash for eggs rather than a hunt, but it was quick and fun and our neighborhood is pretty great. When Jacob got home from work we dyed eggs, baked sugar cookies, and planted our garden.

That afternoon was time for my mother-in-law's egg hunt. She even hid an egg for the adults letting us know she bought our luau tickets for Hawaii this summer. Nice! The boys had fun with their cousins and got tons of candy, toys, and cold hard cash.

We didn't really have time to go home and make dinner. Ok, that's a lie. We could have, but didn't want to. So we ate at our favorite burger place, stopped for froyo afterward, and came home to put the kids to bed. I started watching the latest episode of The People v. O.J. Simpson, but fell asleep at 8:30! I decided to hit the hay at 9:00, only to wake up at 2:30 am, ready for the day. Ugh. BTW, they really need to make a soundtrack for that show. The music director is killing it!

We spent Easter with my parents with a huge brunch and another egg hunt for the kids. I am still full thinking about all the food, but it didn't stop me from eating leftovers this morning. I'm purging the house of all the candy today so Jacob can take it to work.

As far as entertainment goes, I read some really easy, stupid books by reality stars. I caught up on all episodes of Donnie Loves Jenny because I think they are adorable, and I finally started watching season two of Empire. I also watched Miss You Already fully prepared to cry my eyes out, but it didn't hit me that hard. Oh! I joined Snapchat a few weeks ago, but didn't actually use it until last night. Add me! I have to spend the entire day cleaning my house, which is a disaster. That's the problem with being busy! Nolan has half days this week and both boys are on spring break next week, so I'm signing off for a while. I'll visit your blogs tomorrow and be back with a new post when I linkup with Steph and Jana for book reviews on April 12th.

What a fun weekend!

I have had snapchat for at least several months now, and I watch peoples' snaps, but I have yet to actually post one of my own. Maybe this week...

And yes! The People vs. OJ music director is AWESOME! When "Another One Bites the Dust" started as they're dismissing jurors, I was DYING!

Do they make an adult version of those Vans?! So cute! I think it's awesome that you brought the kids with you to the caucus- they got a front row seat to see what it's all about! That acid thing- WOW. Hope you enjoy your little break!
