"I want you smothered, want you covered like my waffle house hash browns." Oddly enough I loved Bloodhound Gang before this single came out - their first album is the best! :)

I was OBSESSED with Aqua back in the 90's/2000s.

Come on Eileen, FAVORITE!

I always, always want to sing "I touch myself" at karaoke but then I scan the room and realize it's a BAD idea, and figured it's better to sing in the privacy of my own home. I loved that song.

Tonic, ZOMG I adore that song. I still get nostalgic when I hear it.

BEST LOVE SONG EVER WRITTEN: I'm Gonna Be (500) Miles!!! SUCH a sweet song! I adore it.

NO RAIN - BLIND MELON, adore! Still love it as much as the FIRST time I heard it.

I love that you listed the Butthole Surfers!!! So underrated IMO.

Oddly enough The Verve Pipe had a 2nd song, that wasn't a hit on the radio, called "Colorful" from the movie Rock Star with Mark Walhberg and I LOVE it.

Mr. Big, TO BE WITH YOU, makes me think of middle school and I love it! I Played the video twice before I typed this :)

Tubthumping makes me instantly think of clubbing when I was 18! ha!

What I am - that's another karaoke song I love to sing!

I just belted out What's Up the other day when it came on the radio... love :)

Thanks for all the fun memories!!!!

My favorite One Hit Wonder, which I won't say it was really a one hit, I feel like Tesla had two (with Signs) but my all time favorite song of ever... "Love Song" by Tesla, and or "Ballad of Jane" by LA Guns. Toss up :)

From your list, I give a big amen to:
A Girl Like You
Bitter Sweet Symphony
Collide
Flagpole Sitta
If You Could Only See (but I also like their song You Wanted More)
No Rain
Rapper's Delight
So Alive
What's Up

I would add because I had this conversation with a friend the other day, and those were the two that I remember from that discussion:
She's Like the Wind by Patrick Swayze
Far Behind by Candlebox

I love so many of these songs and it's so funny to think that they were one-hit wonders. What ever happened to these folks??

I was really surprised (and maybe a little sad) to see Fiona Apple on this list. While it's true that none of her singles did as well as "Criminal," she has such a huge fan base (myself included, obviously!) that it's really hard to think of her as just a "one hit wonder." If you liked "Criminal" and haven't listened to any of her other stuff, I'd be happy to give you some recommendations! She's one of my absolute favorite artists, so I love talking about her and sharing her music with others.
