Fall Movies

Summer was a bust for me, as far as movies go, so I'm really looking forward to fall. I already saw Everest and Black Mass and really liked both of them. Here's what else I want to watch this season.

99 Homes
This looks super dramatic and might be hard to watch because the events are so recent, but it looks good.

The Walk
Insanity. I seriously had no idea this really happened. I love JGL.

The Martian
I CANNOT WAIT. Jacob and I both really loved the book so we're exited to plan a date around this movie.

Freeheld
It's not getting the best reviews, but I still want to see it. Bring tissue!

Steve Jobs
You can't go wrong with Aaron Sorkin and this cast.

Room
I have mixed feelings about the book, but still really want to see this, mostly for Brie Larson.

I Smile Back
This looks heartbreaking. I'm excited to see Sarah Silverman in something dramatic.

Experimenter
I didn't know anything about Milgram's obedience experiment! This looks great.

Beasts of No Nation
This looks hard to watch, but so good. And it's coming out on Netflix on the same day!

Bridge of Spies
It's Steven Spielberg, the Coen brothers, and Tom Hanks. How could it be bad?

Our Brand is Crisis
I've seen the documentary and liked it. The critics don't like this fictionalized version though.

The Peanuts Movie
Peanuts movies are a tradition around here. My kids are excited to see this.

Spotlight
Another tough subject, but the movie looks so good. I love films about journalists.

Trumbo
Great cast, awesome period, interesting topic! Cranston's performance looks great.

The 33
This story of the 2010 Chilean mine rescue looks like a classic feel-good movie.

Love The Coopers
This looks cheesy, but I love Christmas movies. I'll probably see it with Carrie.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2
Duh.

Secret in Their Eyes
This looks heavy.

The Good Dinosaur
Another one I can't wait to see with the kids! They're going to love it.

The Night Before
So stupid, but I'll probably see it at some point because of the cast.

The Danish Girl
I love Eddie Redmayne so much.

Sisters
This honestly doesn't look very good, but it's got my girls in it, so I have to see it, right?

Also playing this fall: The Green Inferno, Hotel Transylvania 2, The Intern, Before I Wake, Ashby, Mississippi Grind, Legend, Pan, Masterminds, Knock Knock, Hell & Back, Goosebumps, Crimson Peak, Momentum, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, Jem and the Holograms, The Last Witch Hunter, Burnt, Rock the Kasbah, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Autobahn, Spectre, By The Sea, Rings, Victor Frankenstein, Creed, Krampus, Youth, In the Heart of the Sea, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

What are you excited to see?

I pretty much want to see all of these. Oh my goodness, did you see the Argentine version of The Secrets in Their Eyes? The movie itself was just okay, but the ending was incredible. Totally made the whole movie worthwhile.

I know we'll be seeing Peanuts and Mockingjay. And OF COURSE The Martian. My husband took Friday off so we can go midday while the child is in school.

I wanted to see Black Mass but I figure it'll be a Redbox movie for me. Like most movies. Not sure about Room. I LOVED the book so I don't know what to do with the movie.

I don't go to the theater for movies because I'm lame...unless we are taking the stepson...so chances are I'll see The Peanuts Movie. And, I'm seeing The Martian. I told my husband we are having a date night. He said "that doesn't really sound like your kind of movie", and I said "just go with it".

This morning, I heard an interview with Toni Collette and Drew Barrymore about a movie they are in that sounded really good...but I don't remember the name because I'm lame.

I haven't seen most of these trailers. Bridge of Spies looks really interesting. Definitely seeing Mockingjay and Sisters. I haven't read The Martian, but the book and movie are both getting rave reviews.

I saw Black Mass last week. It was slow, but Depp's performance more than made up for it. And to think I used to not like him...

I really want to see The Martian, but I don't want to see the movie before I read the book. I think it seems like the perfect "movie to see in the theater," but I think I'll probably end up catching it on Netflix since I'm #65 on the library waiting list for the book. (And I've only moved up a couple of spots in the past 3 weeks.)

I still haven't seen the first part of Mockingjay, but I really liked the first two movies. I actually haven't read these books either.

I Smile Back and Secret in Their Eyes are two that I definitely want to watch. I don't know if I'll see them in the theater, but I'm really looking forward to both of them.

I really did not like Room (the book), so I won't be seeing the movie. I was so disappointed in that book because it's exactly the type of thing I enjoy, and I felt like I had to force myself to finish it.

The one fall movie I will definitely shell out the extra money for movie tickets for is Crimson Peak. I've been looking forward to this one for months!
