Summer So Far

Recap alert! Photo heavy! Take a peek at what I've been up to so far this summer.

The kids are in karate and it's hilarious and cute.

We went to a Mariners game. It was Milo's first one!

We had breakfast in the VW bus at one of our favorite local restaurants.

We spent a day at the Museum of Flight.

Jacob and I took a drive along the Historic Columbia River Highway and over Mount Rainier.
We stopped at numerous vistas and waterfalls, visited a dam/fish ladder, tasted hard cider on an apple orchard,
went to an art museum, and saw a vintage teapot shaped gas station.

We had a very low key 4th of July weekend and watched fireworks with our neighbors.

Carrie and I went to a Seattle Reign FC game to welcome back Hope Solo and Megan Rapinoe after their FIFA World Cup win.

We've been swimming at the lake or outdoor pool at least once a week. Our kids are fish.

Leeann came to visit and we saw One Direction in concert. Swoon.

The next day she and I took the kids sightseeing in Seattle.
We went on a harbor cruise, pushed our way through Pike Place Market, and went up to Sky View Observatory.

The following day Leeann and I drove down the Oregon coast, sans kids.
We stopped in Astoria to check out some Goonies locations then strolled along Cannon Beach to see Haystack Rock.

We made our way to Portland to stay for the night.
We did the Aerial Tram, took a ghost/history tour, ate a Voodoo Doughnut, and visited Multnomah Falls and The Grotto.

I had breakfast with Tiffany while she visited Seattle.

Meghan hooked us up with awesome tickets to a Tacoma Rainiers game.

We escaped the 90 degree heat for a 65 degree weekend at the ocean.
It started out super foggy and windy, but as soon as the blue sky poked through, it was perfect.

We've also been going to tons of parks and eating way too much froyo. We completed some reading programs and pick up books from the library every week. We've gone to movies, baked treats, and done science experiments and art projects. It's been fun and busy and HOT. I'm definitely over the crazy high temps we've been having, but we're doing our best to stay cool and get out when we can tolerate the heat. I've had a great mix of fun and downtime so I'm not getting too overwhelmed. Life has been good and we still have five weeks of fun before school starts!

It looks like such a great summer! I feel like I've been trapped in an office for the past two months, but then I think about all the things I've been up to and realize it hasn't actually been so bad.

I'm totally jealous about you going to the Goonies locations. I need to do that!

I'm exhausted for you! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to entertain me! I had a blast. I wonder where our (probably last waaah!) 1D adventure will be next year?

And how adorable are the boys in their karate outfits?!
