Excited for 2015

I really dropped the blogging ball, didn't I? I took an intentional break over the holidays to live in the moment with my family and then I got sick on New Year's Eve. Like, really sick. Some sort of combination sinus/respiratory infection. Because I have a tracheal stenosis (an abnormal narrowing of the airway), it got really hard to breathe. I was worried about not being able to catch my breath, which lead to panic attacks, which wasn't helpful at all! I think it's under control now, though I don't feel like I'm actually over it. I've got to cough up all the mucus that's settled in my lungs, which again, with the stenosis, is not an easy task. I'm on antibiotics, Prednisone, prescription nasal spray, throat spray, an inhaler, Mucinex, and NyQuil. And I have a dilation surgery scheduled in two weeks. I spent five whole days in bed watching three seasons of Friends on Netflix and reading five books. It all sounds lovely, but I was actually pretty miserable.

Anyway, the time has passed to write any sort of end of the year recap. I usually list my favorite things in entertainment and pop culture from the previous year, but that was so last week. I'm ready for the new year, though I haven't kicked it off in a special way or even made any resolutions. Instead, here's what I'm excited for in 2015!

MOVIES I can't wait to see '71, Mad Max: Fury Road, Pitch Perfect 2, Tomorrowland, Entourage, Jurassic World, Paper Towns, Trainwreck, Everest, The Walk, Peanuts, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, Sisters, and The Hateful Eight.

CONCERTS I've only purchased tickets to see One Direction and Taylor Swift in 2015. I plan to see Garth Brooks if he makes his way up here and hope to see Lana Del Rey/Courtney Love this summer.

BOOKS These are the books on my to-read list so far: I Was Here by Gayle Forman, My Sunshine Away by M.O. Walsh, Funny Girl by Nick Hornby, It's What I Do by Lynsey Addario, My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga, Hold Me Closer: The Tiny Cooper Story by David Levithan, Making Nice by Matt Sumell, We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach, Made You Up by Francesca Zappia, Single, Carefree, Mellow by Katherine Heiny, Delicious Foods by James Hannaham, and So You've Been Publicly Shamed by Jon Ronson.

MUSICALS I have tickets to see Dirty Dancing, Phantom of the Opera, and Pippin and I'll definitely be renewing my Broadway at The Paramount subscription this summer.

TRAVEL Carrie and I are doing a little road trip next month. We're starting in Savannah, Georgia and driving up to Wilmington, North Carolina, stopping at historic little towns and beaches along the way.

Leeann is coming up in July for the One Direction concert. After spending a few days in Seattle, we're going to drive down to Portland and visit a few beaches on the Oregon coast.

As a family, we'll be doing our annual weekend at the ocean this summer. Jacob and I will probably go away for a long weekend, though we haven't yet decided on a location or dates. I'm pushing for New Orleans, but we'll see.

I will also be seeing Britney Spears in Vegas this fall, either with Misty, my BFF, or Jacob. I gotta see Piece of Me in 2015! That is my resolution.

TV I'm so pumped for new seasons of House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, plus Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix. I also can't wait for the final seasons of Mad Men and Parks & Recreation, and the return of Girls, Veep, Silicon Valley, Sherlock, Drunk History, Inside Amy Schumer, and You're the Worst. I'll also be checking out new shows Togetherness and Wayward Pines.

MUSIC I can't wait for Mark Ronson's Uptown Funk next week. But honestly, all I need in my life is some new Adele. There's no official word that she's even releasing an album, but it has to happen, right? Other albums I'm excited to hear are from Modest Mouse, Madonna, Kanye West, Ellie Goulding, Frank Ocean, Fergie, Kelly Clarkson, and One Direction. I wouldn't be mad about new Gwen Stefani or Britney Spears either!

What are you excited to see/hear/read in 2015?

Glad you're feeling better!!! Being sick sucks, being sick on the holidays sucks even harder!

Wait, is this Mad Max a remake? Prequel? I hadn't heard about it.

I am actually excited about Jurassic World. I have never seen the first movies, yes you read that right. I plan to watch them before this but let's be honest, the main reason I want to watch it is not for the dino awesome it's for the Chris Pratt-ness. *swoon*

I need to read more about this Sisters. When Tina and Amy get together, I am always happy.

I didn't like the first Hunger Games so I have decided to nix the rest. I know I'm such a quitter.

I can't wait for the TSwift recap. I currently have tickets for Sleater-Kinney, Jack White, Foo Fighters (musicfest with Heart and others) AND if all goes right I might try to swing some Who Tickets for their 50th Anniversary tour. 2015 is already shaping up musically.

My only read list is probably Amy's book and maybe Lena's book. I have a hard time getting into fiction - sad I know. Hunger Games was the last fictional book I read. I enjoy biographies.

When will you be in Savannah - I can't make any promises with work, and budgeting etc (we have a travel trip for Colorado mid spring, and possibly summer plans so we have to save butttt, let a sister know when you'll be down south). PS I ADORE Wilmington!!! Be sure to scout all the locations from One Tree Hill and Dawson's while you are there!

And seriously.. if you make it to NOLA let me know. PSS I would avoid the summer months, it's hot as all get out down there in the summer - or just hydrate like a crazy lady while you are there and dress light!!! :)

TV: House of Cards, OITNB, Mad Men, Parks N' Rec, Girls, Sherlock!!!, Drunk History, Supernatural, so many different shows. I need see what this Wayward Pines is about.

Fingers Crossed: AC/DC goes on tour - their new album is out, and they just confirmed headliner status at Coachella - They were amazing live and I hope to catch them one more time, now that Malcolm Young's health is questionable. Without him they will not tour or continue the band. Makes me ultimately sad.

Thank you for all the great entertainment to look forward to and reminding me how great 2015 already is just through the plans we've made. I might have to write up my own little blog about this and give you credit :)

You've got quite the fun list for 2015! I can't wait to see Pitch Perfect 2 and the last Hunger Games movie. I'm also hoping to read more books this year.

I'm so hoping I'll be able to get it together for Britney in 2015!

I'm having my work evaluation next week. A raise would be great right about now.

I only want to see Mad Max: Fury Road because Tom Hardy is in it. I could look at him all day long.

I'm excited for the second season of True Detective and new show, American Crime Story. I've been reading about it. It sounds awesome!

I love the idea for this post so, so much!!! I'm excited to see Serena, Mockingjay Part 2 and Paper Towns. I might see Still Alice. Not sure about that one.

I need to get my travel plans in order and Broadway shows are definitely on my list, too. I want to take my daughter to her first one and I have to decide which ones I want to see.

Wow. You have some awesome stuff to look forward to.

I'd love to see Taylor Swift, but I was broke when tickets went on sale here. Sigh. Another time.

I also have some Broadway shows coming up -- Kinky Boots, Pippin, The Lion King, and Cindrella. I'm excited about all of them!

Oh, and absolutely yes to Pitch Perfect 2. I don't go to a lot of movies in the theater, but I will catch that one opening weekend.

You and Misty HAVE to go to Vegas this year. And I HAVE TO join you! I'm so there!

I heard Adele IS recording an album that is supposed to be out later this year. In fact, they were just talking about it on the radio this morning. So, yay!

And there are SO MANY movies I want to see. I don't know how I'm going to fit them all in.

Aww sorry you were sick. My nephews had sinus infections as well. We all went down around the holidays so I was sick NYE :( Not a good way to start 2015.

So jealous of you and Leeann's travels! I still need to get my butt to Seattle one day :)

Happy New Year!

Happy 2015!!! This year hasn't started nice for you BUT I am glad you are slowly feeling better. I can relate. What you went through I went through for three months years ago and every time I get a sore throat and then start coughing I get panic attacks I might end up sick for a long time again. It's just sad and ridiculous. Ugh.

2015 will be a great year for you. WOW. So much traveling. I am hoping to travel to Oregon as well since we are rather close to it {hubby's grandpa lives there so a visit is a must}, and maybe hopefully {it's needed and a must} I will end up in Switzerland visiting mom and friends. Fingers crossed. That's really all I'm looking forward to, and moving, and getting paid on a regular basis. :) Ha!

Most def want to watch: Mad Max, Pitch Perfect 2, Tomorrowland, Entourage, Jurassic World, and Sisters.

As far as books go, at the moment I don't have too any on my must read list, which is strange for me but I just don't have the time to read at the moment. Or, when I have the time I just don't have the energy for it.
