Blogging Rut

I'm in a rut and have only posted once a week for the last four weeks. I just can't seem to get healthy! It started with a sinus infection the week before Christmas. Then I came down with a horrible respiratory infection on New Year's Eve. Exciting times, let me tell ya. I went to Urgent Care on Sunday because I was having such a hard time breathing. Turns out I have laryngitis from all the coughing. I got more Prednisone (my third round in five weeks!) and I'm sort of finally feeling better. Now I have tracheal dilation surgery tomorrow morning. My doc is going to try something new; AN INJECTION OF CORTISONE RIGHT INTO MY TRACHEA. I'm kinda freaking out about it, but here's hoping it actually helps. Not being able to breathe is tough.

On a positive note, there are some perks to being sick. Jacob cooks dinner (and breakfast on the weekends) and brings it to me in bed. He's a saint and I don't deserve him. He's paying my back by going on an upcoming snowboard trip though. And in the last three weeks I've read eleven books, cruised through five seasons of Friends on Netflix, and since the only thing I've been able to do (because it takes zero physical effort) is go to the movies, I've seen five.

But yeah, posting probably won't get any better for another few weeks because I've got to recover from surgery, then catch up on life. My house is a mess. Christmas toys still need new homes. Piles of old clothes and toys need to be taken to Goodwill. I need to cook instead of order in. Frankly, I just need to get out of bed a little more. I'm a hermit! Plus, I have a bunch of fun stuff next week to keep me busy. I have a musical to see, Milo's turning four, Jacob and I are going to see John Mulaney, and the Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl! So I won't be around here much, but if you miss me, I'm always on Twitter!

I'm so sorry, that's a really rough road. Three doses of steroids is no joke either.

Good luck with your surgery!

You need to get yourself better!

I hope you get to feeling better ASAP and I hope surgery is successful AND a breeze for you!

HURRAY SEAHAWKS - I will be an honorary fan for the Super Bowl - I've always honestly liked them, it's just odd to say they are like my 4th favorite team... right? Not in 4th place just one of 4-5 favorite teams. That makes no sense.

PS If you were sick - wearing slippers to the theater is even more acceptable! If it makes you feel better I've been wearing American Eagle Mocs around town, I thought they were shoes, turns out they are in the stores "slipper section" online... DOH!

I hope the cortisone works for you. I know you're miserable. At least you can enjoy good books and movies so you don't go totally insane.

I have a page full of blog post ideas, but can't get motivated enough to do it. Today's post was 6 months in the making. Ha!

I'm sorry you've been so sick! I hope things get better very soon. For what it's worth, I'm totally rooting for the Seahawks this year. I can't stand the Patriots.

You poor thing. You just can't catch a break. You always seems to catch all the colds. Ugh! Good luck w/ your surgery. I hope you recover well.

How are your feet???

Ugh, girl I was so sorry to read your comment about feeling so shitty and off. I know surgery is really scary, but I know you'll pull through and be a badass, as per usual and this will hopefully get you back on track to feeling 100%! In the meantime, relax even more (maybe rewatch House of Cards to get ready for the new season!), read some good books, and don't worry - everything will get done once you're back to your normal self!
Also, can I please tell you that Ant is a diehard Packers fan, so he was extra devastated at that game. However, I hate New England teams, so I'll be jumping on the Seahawks bandwagon for the Super Bowl :) (especially amid Inflatagate now!).
Hang in there, feel better, and I'm here if you need to talk/vent!

So sorry girl...hope the surgery will go well, too. And Twitter it is then, even though I am more in a Twitter rut...hahahaha.

Happy weekend. xoxo

Aww :( Hope you are recovering well. Blogs are personal so if you don't have anything to write about... don't feel guilty!
