Winter Movies

I want to see less movies than I usually do in the winter and I'm not that interested in many films in the Oscar race. Weird.

Into The Woods
I don't think I'll rush out to see this, but I do want to watch it at some point.

This looks so hard to watch! It's getting mixed reviews, so I'm curious.

American Sniper
High blood pressure alert. This is another one that looks like it'll be hard to watch.

Big Eyes
You had me at Tim Burton.

I can't wait for this one. It seems rather relevant now, which is really sad.

A Most Violent Year
I love Oscar Isaac so much. And Jessica Chastain. This looks so good.

Patrick Stewart is awesome!

This will be a cute movie for Nolan and I. Hopefully no one dies in it...

Still Alice
Julianne Moore's performance looks amazing. And heartbreaking.

The Boy Next Door
J.Lo movies are such a guilty pleasure of mine. So are crazy stalker thrillers.

Against the Sun
Another movie that looks tough to watch.

Kingsman: The Secret Service
It looks good. I had no idea it was based on a comic book.

The Last 5 Years
It looks a little awkward, but my musical loving heart is excited for it.

Maps to the Stars
Julianne Moore is on a roll! This looks awesome.

Also playing this winter: The Interview, Amityville: The Awakening, The Gambler, 88, Taken 3, Inherent Vice, Predestination, The Wedding Ringer, Escobar: Paradise Lost, Blackhat, Spare Parts, Mortdecai, Black or White, Strange Magic, Project Almanac, The Seventh Son, Pass the Light, Jupiter Ascending, Fifty Shades of Grey, The Lazarus Effect, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, McFarland USA, Focus, The Vatican Tapes, Outcast, Little Boy, Chappie, Unfinished Business, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, The Coup, Cinderella, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, In the Heart of the Sea, Insurgent.

What are you excited to see?

I'd like to see Unbroken and American Sniper but I have a very hard time sitting through movies that are difficult subjects. I typically avoid them.

Julianne Moore rocks. I love her.

I'm taking the kids to see the new Night at the Museum tomorrow. They loved the first two. I'm not dying to run out and see anything, but American Sniper looks really good. Clint Eastwood movies have really become some of my favorites.

You are the best at posting trailers! I love it. I'm dying to see Unbroken and American Sniper - and now I'm really wanting to see Still Alice (though you're right, it looks completely devastating). The Boy Next Door also looks so creepy but guilty pleasure good - I'm with you on J. Lo movies being guilty pleasures!
Merry Christmas - I hope you have an amazing holiday. I LOVE your holiday card, it's hanging on my fridge :)

American Sniper was good, but definitely tense at times. Like, really, REALLY tense. But Bradley Cooper was great.

'71 is one of my favorite movies of the year.

Into The Woods - I think the kids will really enjoy this one
Unbroken - yeah I want to see this but it is going to be heavy watching I think
Sniper - much anticipated in our house. The man had read and watched every single thing about it
Big Eyes - I"m in two minds about this one
Selma - should be good
A Most Violent Year - This is going to be sooo good!
Match - One to see
Paddington - even though my kids are older they still want to see this. At the moment it is only available in French and/or Dutch but they want to watch it in English so we will wait
Still Alice - This is going to be so sad!
The Boy Next Door - creepy!
Against the sun - like you said, going to be tough to watch
Kingsman - going to enjoy this one I think
The last 5 years - Think the girl & I might watch this one together

That said, I must say at the moment I'm more into easy light movies at the moment.
