No-Shave November

I always thought No-Shave November (or Movember) was just an excuse for guys to be lazy. But over the last few years it's really taken off and raised money and awareness for men's health issues. The goal is for the men in our lives to embrace their hair, which many cancer patients lose, and donate the money they'd typically spend on shaving and grooming all month. They can also start a team to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

This admission is completely shallow, but I like this month because I like facial hair. Have you seen my mountain man of a husband? He's grew a beard at 21-years old and never looked back. Back then he'd have to shave for respiratory training at work and looked like he was in junior high. Our kids have never even seen him without a beard. I bet he's super pale under there!

I also seem to find celebrities much more attractive when they've got a little something on their face. They look older, more distinguished, more manly. I'm not down with full on Santa Claus or Duck Dynasty action, but somewhere between a little scruff and a tight and clean beard? I'm all in! Check out some Hollywood men with and without facial hair.

What do you think about beards? Is it a regional preference? When we were in Europe in 2007 everyone asked Jacob about his beard. It's almost like they were appalled that he didn't take the time to groom himself. We were like, "No, it's totally normal! Everyone in Seattle has a beard!"

I love that it's become a big fundraiser. I think it's awesome!

We were just talking about this last night! Justin is going to attempt it. The deal was that if I thought it started looking creepy, it had to go!

I love that Adam Sandler and Tom Hardy are on this list. Tom Hardy should be on all lists. He is so damn sexy.

I prefer scruff and the whole 'I haven't shaved in 2 or 3 days' more than an actual beard. It just depends on the guy, the face and the beard. Ha!

Oh, Joe M. from True Blood? Beard all the way!

Can't stop commenting. Carell is so much hotter with a beard than without.

I always used to prefer clean shaven men, but as I get older, I find I like the tasteful, well-kept beard. It's distinguished and masculine.

Mmmmmm to all these hotties (who are gorgeous no matter how you stack them). I never realized either that there was a purpose to scruffy guys, I thought it was some caveman or evolutionary shit where they were entering hibernation mode ;) A little scruff is always a good look!

I love a good beard, good thing too since the man looks so much better with one and thankfully he knows it.
