Fun Fall Weekend

I'm so thankful that today is a holiday so I can catch up on some relaxation! My weekend was a great mix of fall, family, friends, and a little absurdity. On Friday afternoon, Milo and I went on his pumpkin patch field trip. It's so cute watching my littlest guy run around with his preschool buddies. Unlike the rest of the kids who wanted the biggest, tallest pumpkin they could find, he chose the tiniest. So cute!

Friday night was spent at my high school's homecoming game. The boys have been asking to go to a Huskies or Seahawks game, but it's just way too expensive and they'd be bored. So why not some Friday night lights? Unfortunately it was way past their bedtime so we left in the third quarter. We all still had a great time though and it brought back a ton of memories.

On Saturday morning, we made Greek yogurt pancakes for breakfast and went to the Lowe's Build and Grow clinic. This was our first time and it was so awesome! The boys got aprons and eye protectors before building their haunted houses. Afterward they were given a certificate of completion, a patch (to be ironed onto their aprons), and some Halloween candy. I was impressed with the whole operation.

Then I made the three hour drive to my college town (where Carrie still lives) and this is when the absurdity came in. After dinner Saturday night, we saw One Direction: Where We Are at the movie theater. It's a concert film about the tour I just saw them on. I know, I know. Obsessed. Carrie actually had a good time though (she's a boy band fan in general) and we had fun singing their songs the rest of the night.

We slept in until 10:00 on Sunday morning. I honestly can't remember the last time I got that much sleep! We grabbed a quick breakfast and went on a tour of a local farm-to-glass craft distillery. We learned all about their cider making and distillation process and sampled two types of apple vodka, raspberry vodka, gin, two types of apple brandy, and their latest experiment (which isn't available to buy yet), pumpkin spice liqueur. YUM! I loved everything but the gin. We finished up with a trip to their bakery for cider donuts and apple cider.

On Sunday night I cuddled up with Jacob and hard cider from the farm to watch Obvious Child. Such a great movie! I love everything about Jenny Slate and Jake Lacy was pretty cute. It's kind of a backwards romantic comedy and it definitely has a heavy plot line, but I loved the awkwardness and laughed a ton.

And now it's Columbus Day. No work, no school. I'm insisting we stay in pajamas until noon.
Then we're going Halloween costume shopping!

Sounds like an awesome weekend! I still want to see the Obvious Child, but going to the movies is so rare for us.

We went and saw Gone Girl this weekend, which my family only wanted to see because it was filmed in my college town not far from St. Louis. They were in for more than they bargained for :)

You guys are legitimately the best family ever - you do so many creative and fun things together, which I love. The kids are also so freaking cute, so I can't even handle them + pumpkins.
The distillery looks incredible and the pumpkin spice liquer sounds incredible (and so basic!). You and Jacob are so damn cute and I love that you make time for just one another too.
Basically I just love this post :)

OH! Also, I went out with friends on Friday and the boys were talking about Ben Affleck as Batman, and my boyfriend mentioned that I had just seen Gone Girl... the FIRST thing my friend's boyfriend asked me was, "So does Ben have a big penis?" Sighhhh.

I'd call your weekend pretty perfect! You guys are always doing fun stuff. The kids are getting more and adorable. Is that possible? And the distillery tour sounds so fun!

I was disappointed with the movie, but still glad I saw it. The first several minutes didn't have sound so they had to restart it lol. AND Harry is in LA. He was at a nearby pumpkin patch, I should've found him ;)

Thanks for joining us for MMG happy to have you!

P.S. is it bad I woke up at 10 today and that's totally the norm? The life of a bum haha!

P.P.S. I'm sorry I leave you the longest comments!!
