Fall Movies

Summer is almost over and so is the comic book/superhero/sequel movie season. I'm excited to see some of the darker dramas, thrillers, and independent comedies coming out this fall.

The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby
This love/heartbreak story looks so good.

The Skeleton Twins
I love the cast and the concept.

The Drop
This thriller has such a great cast!

No Good Deed
This sort of feels like a remake of Labor Day, but without the love story. It looks creepy.

The Guest
This looks creepy too.

Tusk
Another creepy one!

This Is Where I Leave You
I read the book earlier this year and loved it! Amazing cast!

The Maze Runner
Jacob read and liked the book and I think the cast looks fantastic. I'll see it!

The Zero Theorem
It looks so weird, but with this cast and director, it's got to be good, right?

Hector and the Search for Happiness
I'll see anything Simon Pegg is a part of.

Two Night Stand
I love Miles Teller so much! This looks like a cute little rom-com.

Gone Girl
Duh.

The Good Lie
This looks so touching.

The Judge
I'll see anything with RDJ.

Kill the Messenger
Again, an incredible cast!

Dear White People
It looks fresh and funny and I'm excited about the cast.

Fury
This will be hard to watch, but looks pretty good.

Birdman
How perfect is Michael Keaton for this role? I can't wait to see it.

Men, Women & Children
A must-see! Great cast, concept, director, writer, everything.

Camp X-Ray
This looks intense. I'm excited to see Kristen Stewart in something completely different.

Laggies
I'll look past crappy Keira Knightly for the rest of the cast. Plus, it's set in Seattle.

Ouiga
I loved playing with my Ouija board as a kid! I'll check it out.

St. Vincent
The cast. Period. I'd watch all of them read a phone book.

Before I Go To Sleep
This is like a not very pleasant version of 50 First Dates. Looks good!

Horns
I don't know what to think about this except that I can't wait to see it.

Nightcrawler
Underground freelance crime journalism? Um. But it looks good.

Interstellar
I don't quite know what it's about, but I'm sure it'll be awesome.

Rosewater
This looks amazing and important. Kudos to Jon Stewart!

Foxcatcher
I love the cast and I'm curious about the story. It looks disturbing.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1
Double duh.

Horrible Bosses 2
I didn't love the first one, but I didn't hate it either. I love everyone involved.

Wild
I'm sort of over Reese (don't hate me), but this looks pretty good.

Annie
I really don't know about this one, but my musical-loving heart will probably see it at some point.

Also playing this fall: The Green Inferno, Dolphin Tale 2, A Walk Among The Tombstones, The Equalizer, The Boxtrolls, The Two Faces of January, Left Behind, Annabelle, A Good Marriage, Northmen: A Viking Saga, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Addicted, Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead, Automata, Dracula Untold, Book of Life, The Best of Me, Before I Go To Sleep, Big Hero 6, Rosewater, The Homesman, Jessabelle, Dumb and Dumber To, Beyond The Lights, McFarland, Penguins of Madagascar, Paradise Lost, The Pyramid, Demonic, Exodus: Gods and Kings, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.

What are you excited to see?

I never go to the movies, I've established this many times. I have to make an exception to see both Gone Girl and This is Where I Leave You in the theater.

No Reese?

So many good films...I so want to see This is Where I leave You, Gone Girl, Mockingjay, The Judge, and Horrible Bosses 2. And then plenty more but I doubt I can fit everything in. hahaha. Hopefully I can do all this on Tuesdays...the cheapest day to go see a film around here. :)

I'm excited about Gone Girl and Hunger Games. Duh.

I loved Horrible Bosses and hope the sequel is just as funny.

I'll see anything Sandler and Pitt are in. I want to see The Drop and Interstellar.

Tusk looks SO WEIRD.

Omg, sooo many good ones, and now because of YOU, I want to see The Skeleton Twins so badly. I love me some Kristin Wiig and Bill Hader (seriously, him as Stefon on SNL? I die every time). Obviously Gone Girl (major duh) is on the top of my list - I'm so excited to see how it all plays out. You put so many awesome movies on here that I haven't heard of yet, so I'm finding new ones that are going to be MUST SEES.
Thanks, girl!

I just saw Skeleton Twins. I really liked it but definitely not a comedy (I keep seeing it described as a comedy in reviews-funny parts but not funny subject!)

I'm hoping to see The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby this weekend.

There are a bunch you included that I hadn't heard of and I watched the trailers. I try to keep up on Flixster but some of the independent movies aren't on there until they are released (it appears)

You forgot the 1D movie! I hated Gone Girl, it bored me, but I'm excited to see the movie just bc I love Ben. And I loved The Hunger Games books too much - I haven't been able to get into the movies :(
