Summer Movies

It seems like there's at least one movie every weekend that I want to see this summer!

The Fault In Our Stars
I'm going to have an emotional breakdown. Maybe I should go to this one alone.

Obvious Child
I love Jenny Slate. This looks kinda funny.

22 Jump Street
21 Jump Street surprised me. I'm sure this won't be as good, but I'm still going to watch it.

How To Train Your Dragon 2
Nolan just discovered the first movie. We'll definitely take him to this one.

Jersey Boys
I really like this musical so I'm excited to see this movie.

They Came Together
A rom-com making fun of rom-coms with Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, and a ton of other hilarious people? Count me in!

Deliver Us From Evil
I'm creeped out just from watching the trailer!

Begin Again
I really liked Once, and I love Mark Ruffalo, so I'll look past Keira Knightley and see this.

Life Itself
I honestly don't know much about Roger Ebert. I'm excited to learn about him.

Boyhood
This movie is a must-see for me. It's kind of incredible.

A Long Way Down
I liked the book and love this cast. I can't wait!

Planes: Fire and Rescue
Nolan loved Planes last summer. I hope this is just as cute.

Happy Christmas
I love the cast! It looks serious and funny at the same time.

Magic in the Moonlight
Amazing cast and it looks interesting. I do love Woody Allen movies. Don't hate me.

A Most Wanted Man
I've heard good things about the book and the cast is awesome.

Rich Hill
This will be very hard to watch. Even the trailer makes me cry. I think everyone needs to see it though.

Very Good Girls
I love, love, love Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Fanning.

Guardians of the Galaxy
I don't know anything about this comic, but recently saw the trailer and think it looks great. Jacob is skeptical.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The third grader in me just has to see it.

Into The Storm
It looks a little cheesy in the way The Day After Tomorrow was, but I still want to see it.

Let's Be Cops
It looks pretty stupid, but I love Jake Johnson and especially love Damon Wayans, Jr.

The Giver
I should probably read the book first, huh?

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
I loved Sin City. I don't really know what this is about, but it'll be awesome.

If I Stay
The book is on my nightstand. I need to read it ASAP! It looks heartbreaking.

When The Game Stands Tall
I'm such a sucker for sports movies. This isn't a typical underdog story though.

One Chance
I love Paul Pott's story. This looks so sweet.

I also want to see What If (Aug 1), Love Is Strange (Aug 22), The Loft (Aug 29),
and Two Night Stand (TBD), but there aren't any trailers yet. Boo.

Also playing this summer: Hellion, The Rover, The Signal, Think Like A Man Too, Third Person, Venus in Fur, Yves Saint Laurent, La Bare, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Snowpiercer, Earth To Echo, Tammy, Affluenza, And So It Goes, The Fluffy Movie, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,  Land Ho, Road to Paloma, I Origins, Mood Indigo, The Purge: Anarchy, Wish I Was Here, Sex Tape, Hercules, Step Up All In, Calvary, Child of God, Get on Up, The Hundred-Foot Journey, Lucy, As Above, So Below, The Expendables 3, The Trip To Italy, Underdogs, Starred Up, Life of Crime, and Jessabelle.

What are you looking forward to?

I had not heard of Obvious Child before. That is my fave Paul Simon song, and I loved the trailer. Can't wait to see that- thanks!

I'm also pretty excited about most of the other films on your list too. It's gonna be a good summer!

I love Jenny Slate, like, LOVE - I'd have her babies. ;)

I can't wait for They Came Together. I really adore Wet Hot American Summer and their original comedy troops so this looks like it's right up my alley. And because, Paul Rudd.

Happy Christmas - I sort of love movies shot like this... Have you seen Drinking Buddies? Reminds me of this and she's in that too. (Makes sense, it's from the same Director). It's strange to hear the "mom" speak in an English accent when I'm only used to her being either a Jersey Girl or an Alabama Girl. ;)

I love Woody Allen movies too - He shares my birthday as well. I would watch this but probably at home.

Very Good Girls looks like I could sit on my couch and enjoy it on a rainy afternoon for sure.

Guardians of the Galaxy - while I will totally watch it I'm still baffled as to why they can make a movie with a Tree and a machine gun wielding raccoon but can't get their crap together to make a Wonder Woman movie, I MEAN... really? I do want to see it, looks enjoyable as crap to me!

Not so sure about the TMNT.. I was never a huge fan, GASP I know, I think it was after my "time" to be totally into it, maybe? I'm happy to see they look bad ass though - less "Ninja Rap" with Vanilla Ice and more kick ass.

Into the Storm - NO, absolutely NOT, that is my nightmare and I think that tornadoes are the scariest thing ever (and typhoons).

Let's Be Cops - I probably won't see it in theaters (unlike 22 Jump Street) but this movie looks hilarious, I laughed loud in the theater during the previews.

Sin City II - Electric Boogaloo - totally down, loved the first one.

For the record: Godzilla was meh, X Men was awesome. Those are the only ones we've seen SO FAR this spring/summer.

I have NO desire to see the new Transformers, I love me some Mark W but I just can't get behind this movie, even with the Dino-Bots!

I can't wait to see Planet of the Apes new part.

Earht to Echo to me is simply the same as probably what was that movie, Super 8? Was that what it was called... or ET. I feel like it's been done, but it's not for me, it's for the kids.

Is Deliver Us From Evil that really spooky possession movie with Olivia Munn? If so that thing looks SO freaky and usually I don't get rattled by scary movies... but I will totally watch it on pay-per-view. With the lights on. ;)

I am honestly shocked that the Captain America: Winter Soldier came out so soon - it was amazing!

Expendables 3 - TOTALLY a guilty pleasure I wil watch this on On-Demand as well.

Are you tire of reading yet ;) haha

I'm seeing a couple of these at the LA Film Fest next week.

The big one on my list right now is Edge of Tomorrow. For obvious reasons.

There are a lot of these that I want to see. I can't wait until I'm able to go to the movies because I'm dying to see the Fault in Our Stars. I also can't wait for 22 Jump Street even though I know it won't be as good as 21.

Let's Be Cops looks hilarious, I have high hopes for Begin Again, and I'm looking forward to Jersey Boys although I haven't seen the musical (which maybe will be better for me to see the movie).

I read Fault In Our Stars while I was in Italy and loved it. I must go see the movie asap. I think I need to go alone so I can sob through the whole thing. Ha!

I really want to see Jersey Boys too!

22 Jump Street was so freaking hilarious. We loved it! I still need to find someone to go see The Fault in Our Stars with me. I also plan to see Transformers in the next couple of weeks. Love me some giant robot cars! The Paul and Amy movie looks great too.

Oh, and the cop movie with the guys from New Girls looks stupidly funny. I'll be seeing it too.
