Pit & Peak

I've been in a blog funk lately. I hope to write some posts, catch up on yours, and comment like a maniac over the weekend. In the meantime, it's nice to have Jen and Allie's linkup to get me to write something. My pits and peaks of the week will probably help explain why I've been MIA.

PITS
I'm sick. It's been going on for three weeks now. I feel absolutely miserable for a day or two then feel better for a few days before the cycle repeats itself. It's all sinus stuff, which I can normally handle, but this time when I'm feeling crappy, I literally can't function. Nolan is sick too. His sinuses are such a mess that he gets bloody noses every day, has a nasty cough from all the drainage, and isn't sleeping well, which means we aren't sleeping well. Poor kid. Jacob has had to take two days off from work the past three weeks to take care of us. I'm over it!

Unhealthy heart? During Milo's three year checkup last week, his pediatrician noticed a heart murmur. We had to wait 10 WHOLE DAYS to see a cardiologist. I've been just a tad stressed, nervous, and emotional. Just a tad.

PEAKS
Healthy heart! Yesterday was Milo's cardiologist appointment. He had an EKG and echocardiogram and thankfully everything is fine. His heart's structure and function is normal and he should outgrow the innocent murmur in a few years. Whew! We celebrated after the hospital visit by playing at a new park and going out for pizza and ice cream.

The Olympics! I've been watching most of the events live, but still recording the primetime coverage so I can fast forward to the the commentary, interviews, and medal ceremonies. I'm disappointed about Bode Miller and Shaun White, but I've been having so much fun getting caught up in everything. I'm ready for some gold in figure skating, speed skating, bobsled, luge, skeleton, and hockey in week two!

Vacation! Jacob and I have wanted to visit Boston for a few years. I was browsing flight prices the other day, saw a sale, and snatched up our plane tickets! We haven't had a vacation since last January, so I'm excited to spend some time away with him, even if it's just a long weekend and we probably won't get any rest or relaxation. Let me know what we should see and where we should eat. I think I need a Wahlburger!

Valentine's Day! I actually don't care about this holiday at all, but I do love my three guys so it's fun to get into it a little bit. We're going to make cheese and chocolate fondue tonight and have some family fun with new board games I got for the kids. Also, season two of House of Cards is available today, so we have super fun plans after they go to bed. And if you saw my Instagram pic with the little notes I put in Jacob's lunches this week, I got the idea here

Have a great Valentine's Day with your loved ones!

I have a DVR full of shows I don't want to watch. Maybe I'll finish season 1 of House of Cards this weekend.

I have been all over the place lately. I have been sick. I have been down in the dumps. Blah blah blah.

Last night was the first night I've really watched Olympic coverage live. Men's figure skating made me cry twice.

I LOVE BOSTON! I was only there for one night and went all over in a few short hours. It's such a great city.

I love Boston! Great city to visit. My best guy friend lived there for years and my best girl friend lives there now. I've been many times and have enjoyed it always.

So glad Milo got the all clear! What a relief. Sorry about the 10 day wait, that sucks.

I'm sorry you're sick, but I am SO GLAD to hear that Milo is okay!

We love Boston. We honeymooned in Salem/Boston. It was a blast. Hope you have fun. We had some delicious Italian food there!

My DVR is full of all the stuff I've been avoiding so that I could watch ALL THE OLYMPICS.
