Justin Timberlake Concert

Holy crap! Justin Timberlake! It was easily one of the best shows I've ever seen. I wasn't the biggest fan of The 20/20 Experience (and expressed that here and here), but I've always been a big fan of his. He is a truly gifted artist and incredible entertainer, so I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to see him in concert. I had been listening to 20/20 for three weeks straight leading up to the concert and I will now happily admit that I was wrong. I'm into it. Like, really into it. There are still a few songs I skip right over, but for the most part, I'm in love with parts one and two.

Carrie and I made out way down to Seattle Center on a foggy Blue Friday and I couldn't believe the 12th Man was in such force. It's so much fun for our city to be caught up in the magic of the Seahawks, especially now that we're headed to the Super Bowl! There was a DJ before Justin came out and he let us know that some Seahawks players and Macklemore were in the arena. Unfortunately they didn't make an appearance on stage.

I can't even find the words to explain how great Justin was. He looked so handsome, sounded perfect, and danced constantly. Oh, the dancing. Swoon. The first half of the show focused on his instrumental songs. His band, The Tennessee Kids, was full of horns, strings, and backup singers. He performed fifteen songs this way, not editing them down from their eight minute run time at all, and playing piano and dancing with a contemporary twist on Fred Astaire flair. Then there was an intermission. How fancy!

The second part of the show was more of a pop concert. There were light shows, crazy graphics, and lots of bass. The front of his stage rose and rolled to the back of the arena, where he performed a ton of his dance songs and I got a much better view. He went down into the bar area (apparently promoting his tequila brand Sauza 901) and sang on a little B stage, including some covers, my favorite being "Heartbreak Hotel." He took a shot to the 12th Man, got back on stage, and rolled back to the front of the arena to close the show with a mashup of "Suit & Tie" "SexyBack" and Milo's favorite, "Mirrors."

I seriously can't get over how good it was. He still has a few dates left in 2014. If he comes near you, GO! You'll love it. I got some crappy pictures and videos on my little camera. The zoom and bass were too much for it to handle way up in the nosebleeds though, so sorry for the terrible quality.

This looks like SUCH a fun night and show!! I just love JT.

I am liking Macklemore, more and more - the more I learn about him and how he came up on his own makes me like him even better. The fact that he gets respect from Eddie Vedder and PJ helps too. ;)

I've seen him in Memphis twice and left before it over over both times. I'm not a JT fan. I know, I know, kill me now.

I'm not sure how Terri and I are even friends.

Moving along... I LOVE ME SOME JT! He's the next best thing we have here next to Elvis. Thankfully, we have someone who still represents Memphis in a great way.

Now, if we could just get some new city leaders to turn everything else around. That's a story for another day though.

I'mg lad you had a great time! It was probably the best concert (aside from Paul Simon) I've ever been to. We plan to catch him in at least one or two other cities- it was so good!

My sister-in-law dragged my brother to see him the other night in LA. Even my brother admitted he puts on a good show and that he was entertained.
