If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen the above picture a few weeks ago with the question, "Cute shirt? Or crazy cat lady?" I got some mixed reviews, but in the end I decided to keep it and wear it out that night. Honestly, I just really liked the print. Besides one dog, a sweet Chow, I've only ever had three cats, but I've never thought of myself as a cat person. Then I emptied the photos from my phone onto my computer and realized, yeah, I probably am. Jack and Sally, our sweet, tiny kittens are now six months old. They are still playful, but they are big and I hate it. Why hasn't someone tried to breed miniature or toy cats? I'd take them all! But the kits are still fun and cute and we enjoy them, so I guess they can stay.
Sally's kind of a piece of work. She's feisty and skittish and doesn't come around until she feels like it. She puts everything in her mouth and stalks our food the second we have anything out. I find little mouse cat toys in beds, under the couch, behind the toilet, everywhere. She just wanders around the house with them in her mouth like a dog waiting to play fetch. I think she'd be one of those cats that brought us dead mice and birds if we let her outside. She also eats paper and it's starting to piss me off. Just look at my calendar! She scratches and bites (almost always during play) and isn't afraid to show you she's over you. But she can be sweet too. She loves her brother and is constantly cleaning him and initiating kitty cuddles. Bitches get stuff done, I guess. And when the kids are in bed and we have a nice quiet house, she always comes to find me to snuggle up while I watch TV or read.
Jack is so chill, it's unbelievable. Probably because he's kind of dumb. He's about twice the size of Sally and has a tough time fitting through the baby gate lately. I think it's hilarious, but Nolan is very concerned and has started "exercising him" by helping him walk on his hind legs to build muscle so he can jump. I'm positive he can jump it, he's just too lazy to try. And don't worry, we aren't overfeeding him. He eats his food then finishes Sally's, but even with hers it's all within the normal portion range. The vet said he's just going to be a much bigger cat. The most annoying thing about him is that he wants to be held and pet all day, every day. He's always climbing in front of my computer screen or stepping on my feet to get some attention. I love that he's so relaxed though so Milo can get a good kitty fix. Jack purrs while Milo awkwardly scoops him up and hugs and kisses him for almost ten minutes at at time. Milo is basically Elmyra from Tiny Toons. He loves Jack, but he could probably kill him.
That's Jack in every single picture
