Cheers & Jeers

Cheers to Matt McGorry! My favorite prison guard from Orange is the New Black filmed a short video back in college to demonstrate a contrast shower. He's adorable. Watch until the very end.

Cheers to Pitch Perfect! Although the sequel won't hit theaters until 2015, the cast is recording a holiday album. Aca-awesome. Ok, sorry I said that. That was really embarrassing.

Cheers to General Mills! If you've been following my blog for a while, you already know how much I love Count Chocula because I've Instagrammed or Tweeted about it the past three Halloweens. Yeah, I know it's terrible for you. No lectures please. It is delicious! This year all five Monster cereals are being released for a limited time. I've actually never had any of the other flavors. Challenge accepted!

Cheers to Blurred Lines Mashups! Robin Thicke's hit song has been remixed with everything lately (Get Lucky, Hollaback Girl, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Moves Like Jagger, even the Growing Pains theme song), but this Britney Spears Outrageous mashup is my favorite!

Cheers to Britney Spears! Speaking of Britney, there is a countdown clock on her website. All it says is "ALL EYES ON ME" and there's a spot to enter your email address. The big reveal is set for September 17th. I hope it's new music and not just some announcement. Katy Perry and Lady Gaga have crappy singles out right now. We need a real pop song.

Cheers to Tina Fey! I was very worried that I wouldn't get a good Tina fix now that 30 Rock has ended and she's been busy working on the Mean Girls musical. Thankfully, she's returning to TV soon, but only as a writer. Oh well, I'll take what I can get. She's working on a Cheers-like sitcom set on Fire Island and another show about a women’s college that begins accepting men. Even though I don't know have any more information, I know I will watch and love these shows.

Cheers to Carly Rae Jepsen! I never thought I'd say that, but her cover of "Part of Your World" for the Blu-Ray/DVD Diamond Edition and new greatest hits soundtrack of The Little Mermaid is pretty much perfect. Take a listen:

Cheers to *NSYNC! In case you live under a rock, Justin and his backup singers actually performed a teeny tiny medley at the VMAs last night, after a week of will they or won't they speculation. Though I was always more into the Backstreet Boys, if these guys actually got back together, I'm positive it would be the most successful reunion tour ever. Come on, Justin. Make it happen.

Jeers to Miley Cyrus. Maybe. I honestly didn't mind her VMA performance. Of course it was in poor taste and it's not my preferred entertainment, but she wasn't doing anything different than what she's been up to lately. Didn't you see her 2012 VH1 Divas performance? Or how about her latest music video? She's kind of a crazy mess, I guess just trying to break out of the Mickey Mouse mold. I do wish she would have stopped at her own song. She didn't have to take Robin Thicke's spotlight. Also, jeers to Robin's stylist.

Jeers to Winnie Cooper. Not really, but why is Danica McKellar in Avril Lavigne's latest video? Isn't she a mathematician now? She's spent the last decade writing books and empowering girls to do better in math and science in school. Did know she's 38? She looks amazing, but she's definitely too old for this crap. I'm so bothered by this! Also, Avril has never been "Rock N Roll". This song is stupid.

Jeers to stiletto nails. Some of our favorite pop stars have been sporting this look for a year or so, but the trend is apparently seeping over to us civilians this fall. I can't. My nails will always be out of style (short and squarish) because long nails creep me the f out. And these are so pointy, how will you not hurt someone? How do you even do day to day tasks? Fashion is pain, I guess.

Jeers to Ben haters. I have to preface this by saying that I don't really care about Superman movies. However, I was surprised to hear that Christian Bale turned down a reported $50 million to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the sequel to Man of Steel. Now that Ben Affleck is taking that role, I'm definitely interested in the movie because, well, it's Ben. I love him and everything he does. Even Gigli. Ok, not really that one. I'm curious to see how he does and think the Internet needs to calm down. It's just a movie! And it's probably going to be terrible anyway, because everything I've heard and read said Man of Steel was terrible. Go ahead, leave your hate in the comments. I can take it.

I was always more of a BSB fan too. If Justin does a reunion tour I will be shocked. What reason does he have? His solo career is booming.

I love Ben. I'm sorry the internet hates that I love him. BEN THE BAT!

Robin Thicke looked like Beetlejuice.

Miley disgusts me.

Those freaking nails are awful.

I cracked up at that Ben meme!

I used to love Count Chocula and sometimes Boo Berry (but not Franken Berry because I don't like strawberry flavored stuff).

You don't have to apologize to ME for aca-awesome. I freakin' love Pitch Perfect. On our girls weekend whenever anyone would go anywhere away from the group we'd always say "make good choices."

Miley has gone pretty crazy. I still love her, and hey, she's still more sane than Lilo, so she's got that..for now.

I'll never be over Bale not being Batman. I do love Ben, so I'm trying to stay positive. I just don't know if I can see him as a bad ass super hero. I will reserve judgment until after I see the movie though.

Miley is a hot mess. I still haven't seen Pitch Perfect. OITNB is definitely next as soon as I finish Breaking Bad. You'd think I'd be done already since I have no job, but we've been so busy.

We did get cable back though! Whoop whoop!

Oh, and I never really liked BSB or 98 Degrees. NKOTB and NSYNC all the way!

Last night's *NSYNC performance was basically the best thing that's happened in my life since 2003. I NEED A REUNION TOUR. And Miley serious scarred me for life last night. It was worse than a train wreck. Yikes!

I would totally go see NSync in concert. Even if I am 36.

And seriously, what is up with those nails? They're gross.
