Kristen Wiig

Kristen Wiig is easily one of my favorite ladies out there. She was always hilarious on SNL, became a fan favorite after Bridesmaids, and is now an in-demand Hollywood actress. She'll be playing a young Lucille Bluth in flashback scenes on season four of Arrested Development, she'll be voicing a character in Despicable Me 2, she's currently filming Anchorman 2, and is now in talks to team up again with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay (partner of Will, co-writer of Anchorman, Step Brothers, The Campaign, etc) on their newest film, written by McKay's wife. Welcome to Me follows a woman with multiple personality disorder who wins the lottery and buys a cable access show to tell the story of her life. She also has five other movies in the can.

Revenge for Jolly! (May) A man recruits his cousin to find out who is behind his dog's suspicious death. Also starring Elijah Wood, Adam Brody, Ryan Philippe, Oscar Isaac, and Brian Petsos.

Girl Most Likely (July) Wiig plays a playwright who stages a suicide in an attempt to win back her ex, only to wind up in the custody of her gambling-addict mother, played by Annette Benning. Also starring Darren Criss, Matt Dillon, and Natasha Lyonne.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (December) In the remake of the 1947 movie, Ben Stiller plays Walter Mitty, a timid magazine photo manager who lives life vicariously through daydreams, then embarks on a true-life adventure of his own when a negative goes missing. Also starring Sean Penn, Adam Scott, Patton Oswalt and Shirley MacLaine.

Hateship, Loveship (TBA 2013) Based on the book of short stories by Alice Munro, Wiig plays a nanny hired to care for a wild teenager. Hailee Steinfeld plays said teen who orchestrates a romance between her nanny and father, a recovering addict living in another town. Also starring Guy Pearce, Nick Nolte and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

The Skeleton Twins (TBA 2014) Wiig and Bill Hader play Maggie and Milo, estranged twins that reunite to confront the problems in their lives after each has a near-death experience on the same day. Also starring Luke Wilson, Ty Burrell, and Mark Duplass.

She's been busy! I can't wait to see so much of her this year!

Ooohh I'm pumped for these! She is one of my ABSOLUTE favorites too! It's like she broke into my brain for the role for bridesmaids. :)

I love Kristen Wiig! She's actually from my city (a couple towns over), so she's a big deal around here. I didn't know she was playing a young Lucille in AD, so I'm stoked for that! I'm excited for these movies, too! Thanks for posting!

I didn't know she was going to be on Arrested Development. Awesome!

It looks like she's choosing wisely. These all have great casts.

I am head over heels in love with Kristen. I'd bat for the other team if she asked me to... maybe, not sure ;)

But seriously, LOVE her. I'm SO over the moon excited she's going to be on Arrested Development! I am dying for that to start. BLESS Netflix for making it happen, regular TV is clearly stupid when it comes to QUALITY SHOWS getting canned (*giving NBC the stink eye because I know Community is on the chopping block, again*)

I usually found Kristin Wiig to be kind of annoying on SNL, but I love her in movies. She is one funny lady!

I love her! I didn't realize she has so much going on. No wonder she left SNL. I totally choked up at her fair well on SNL.
