Happy Rex Manning Day!

It's Rex Manning Day! Please, please, please tell me you know and love the movie Empire Records. If not, we probably can't be friends. This little gem came out in 1995 just a few months after Clueless was a huge box office hit. It tanked in it's limited release and got terrible reviews. In all honestly, the movie is a mess. The story lines are all over the place and when the movie was edited three characters were removed and 40 minutes of film was cut, which made the movie that much more choppy. But I've never minded that at all. It's in my top three favorite movies ever, quite possibly my number one. So have you seen it? Let me give you a little breakdown, gif style.

Oh Empire Records. You really are one of my favorites.

sexy rexy you’re so sexi

“Welcome to Music Town. May I service you?”

Empire Records (Dir. Allan Moyle, 1995)

how i feel while watching lame chick flicks.

You guys, I wanted to LIVE in this movie. I wanted to be pals with all those crazies and steal AJ away from stupid Corey. My sister and BFF both love it and we all still quote it to this day. I used to force new friends and every guy I dated to watch it with me. They didn't have to love it, but they had to pleasantly sit through it to understand where I was coming from. I cannot believe it's almost 20 years old! Since it's a movie that I deem a must-see, I'm gonna give away a DVD! Unfortunately it's the fan remix version, because the original is hard to find. It has some additional scenes and they took a few random lines out, but it's still so good! I only know the difference because I know every single word. Enter below using Rafflecopter and I'll announce the winner at 9:00 pm PST on Friday, April 12.

I seriously hope a few of you kinda like this movie, cause I've got a week's worth of posts celebrating it!
Happy Rex Manning WEEK!

YES! I mentioned this on my blog today too. Hahaha. And tweeted it to Rex Manning Day on the twitter.

I'm not entering because I own it, but I hope everyone else does because it is one of the best movies ever!

I have seen it. I do love it. I'll admit that I haven't watched it in a very very very long time though. Corey is my favorite.

As I commented before - totally missed ALL of this and we celebrated Rex Manning day at my office. I adore this movie, it along with Clueless and Mallrats were some of my favorites in the 90's.

I never realized it was choppy, I guess I wasn't a very focused viewer ;)
