Subscription Boxes

I came across My Cotton Bunny last week. Have you heard of this box yet? It's for your period. Seriously. "My Cotton Bunny is the monthly subscription service that bundles your choice of feminine hygiene products with a few extra goodies to get you through your cycle. Your period doesn't have a chance."

Upon further investigation, I discovered that it's not the only one. Check out Juniper. "Tampons shipped to you by mail, as many as you need. Never panic shop again." They also throw in some pads, pantyliners, gourmet sweets, and artisan savory treats.

You can also get a subscription box for socks, cleaning products, jewelry making, books, handmade letterpress cards, emergency supplies, and even a tackle box for that fisherman in your life. You can even plan a date with a box that contains music and dinner ingredients and get another one for sexy time. I kind of feel like enough is enough with the monthly subscription boxes, but I also really like them. Here's an incomplete list of some that are offered right now.

I currently only subscribe to Julep ($20/month). You take their style quiz to determine what colors that are most appropriate for you (I'm a Boho Glam) and they send you two nail polishes and a beauty product (sometimes more) each month. I love that you can preview your box before they send it and opt for one of the other boxes or skip the month altogether. They also have really cheap add-ons and discounted nail polishes in the Maven store and just introduced a box that only contains beauty products.

I'm really interested in trying these boxes:

Love With Food ($12/month) - You get eight or more gourmet foods. They donate a meal to a hungry child every time you receive a box. You can also shop online for full size foods at a discounted price after you've tried them.

Kiwi Crate ($20/month) - You get materials and inspiration to create science and art projects with your kids. You can pay an additional $8/month for a second set of materials for a sibling. I also love that you can just buy a crate without the subscription. This could keep us busy over the summer!

Beauty Army ($12/month) - You get six beauty samples. I love that you can choose my own items. I have sensitive skin and I never want perfume samples. I also really appreciate that you can skip a month. Sometimes you just don't want anything or money might be tight.

What do you think about subscription boxes? Which ones do you get? Which ones do you want?

Seriously with the period boxes?

I currently get Ipsy and Birchbox. I think I'm ditching Birchbox after I get this month's shipment, which should be this weekend.

I'm going to check out some you have here. If I end up subscribing to more, I'm blaming you!

I did not realize that they are so many boxes. In Germany I tried a beauty box but now I would be interested in some American beauty boxes or maybe a crafty one. I would probably choose one of the eco friendly boxes. I need to check what would be good for me. I love surprises!

The Cotton Bunny makes me giggle. That's too funny!

I haven't subscribed to any. I really want to try one. I just can't decide which.

Beauty Army definitely sounds like one I would try! It is more affordable.

The tampon ones...I die. What in the world?!? I agree that these are getting out of control!

I love the PopSugar MustHave box because it's full size products, not samples. One month I got a $60 scarf, plus a bunch of other stuff, and the box price is only $35. That's the only one I subscribe to; not sure if I'd shell out the money for anything else. :-/

I had no idea there were so many dang monthly boxes! FOR YOUR PERIOD?! Geez Louise. I suppose if I had tons of discretionary money I'd subscribe to a bunch of boxes just to get fun surprises in the mail. I've never done any of them, though I've certainly been tempted by Birchbox and Julep.

LOL of course there are tampon subscription boxes. I'm seeing more sexy toy related boxes for couples. There's a box for everything!

If you're looking for a box for kids, my sister likes Bluum which just created a toddler box so there's more older kid stuff (and stuff for mom) rather than all baby stuff.

I like Beauty Army because you can personalize and also skip a month very easily. Sometimes I don't get it just because I get so many other beauty boxes that I really don't need more samples.

LOVE Love love Julep! It's probably my favorite box (hard to pick!) because you can tailor it pretty well to what you want. There's personality profiles, add-ons, etc. You can also easily skip as well.

Great round up!

My blog is devoted entirely to subscription boxes and I am STILL continually amazed at how many new boxes we see coming up all the time!
