Cheers & Jeers

Cheerst to About A Boy! NBC is making the bestselling book/Oscar nominated movie starring Hugh Grant, Nicholas Hoult and Toni Colette into a TV show. David Walton and Minnie Driver are signed on to play Will and Fiona. I've loved David Walton since Perfect Couples and he was adorable on New Girl. I'm a fan of Minnie too. Jon Favreau will direct the pilot, which was written by Jason Katmis (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood). I LOVE the movie and these are some pretty good names. I'm definitely interested.

NBC to turn 'About A Boy' into a US TV show

Cheers to Breast Self-Exams! This video to remind women to check their breasts was created in 2011, but I just saw it this weekend. If you've already seen it, it never hurts to get a refresher course. If it's new to you, you are welcome.

Cheers to Vegas! Britney Spears is STILL in negotiations for two years' worth of weekend shows at Planet Hollywood. She's also just been offered a nightclub show from a competitor, which would exceed the PH deal. There were inspections and talks over the weekend to see if the nightclub venue could handle one of Britney's spectacular shows. Britney will get final say in which deal she chooses. If that wasn't enough to get me down there, Adele has been offered a short stint in Vegas too. Sources say she'd rather commit to a residency than a tour because of her new baby and the ability to stay in one place and start recording her third album.

Cheers to Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and David O. Russell! They are making another movie together! The untitled period drama is about a con artist who worked with the FBI in a far-reaching corruption case. The cast also includes Amy Adams, Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner, and possibly Louis C.K. Sounds good to me!

Cheers to the Harlem Shake! I know it's already getting old and that most people think it's stupid, but I love the videos. I also just downloaded the song, because how can you not dance to it? The Seattle Sounders shared a video over the weekend and it just makes me smile.

Here are some of my other favorites:

Jeers to Beyonce. I know I'm going to get so much crap for this, but I just don't like her. Of course her singles are all awesome. Love On Top is one of my favorite songs to screech in the car at the top of my lungs. She is insanely talented, always professional, and her performances are jaw-dropping. But something about her just bugs me. She KNOWS she's the queen. I find her confidence/arrogance really off-putting. She's been everywhere lately promoting her documentary, which filled us in on all the stuff she's purposely hid for a year. She just seems so  fake, even when talking with her BFF, Oprah. In that interview she said that her 13-month old baby can read. Ugggghhhhh. Thank you, B, for blessing the world with your genius offspring. She also got mad when unflattering pictures of her at the halftime show made their rounds online. Well, girl, don't make those faces! Of course I have to share them now because they are hilarious.

BTW, I was totally going to buy tickets to her tour, but she's not coming to Seattle, Portland or Vancouver BC. So screw you, Bey!

Jeers to me. It's been a rough two weeks. It started with the worst emotional roller coaster PMS has ever gifted to me. I was crying multiple times a day about nothing at all. Then I was convinced that I am the worst mother on the planet. I questioned everything: what we eat, wear, drive, watch, read, learn, and how we spend, sleep, play, etc. I felt like I've been doing everything wrong. I also felt feverish and didn't want to get out of bed. I took naps and then stayed up way too late four days in a row, so I'm sure exhaustion played a huge part in my meltdown. Once I got my head out of my ass, I was sure that my anxiety was making me physically sick, but then Nolan came down with a fever last Thursday (still has it too, he woke up with 101.4...back to the doctor!), so maybe I really wasn't feeling well.

Jacob and I had some really good talks. Some of the things I worried about were totally irrational (like what Nolan watches on TV. I really only allow educational shows. All the kids in Nolan's class are into super heroes. I wondered if I'm stunting him and was worried that he'd be immature and annoying because we talk about sea animals and science all day long. I know, I'm dumb). But some were genuine concerns, though I didn't have to blow them out of proportion. We made some decisions about school for Nolan and set up some appointments (he is ALWAYS sick and I need to get to the root of the problem), and we're making a few minor adjustments around the house, like purging and donating a ton of stuff, changing some of the things we eat and spending more time outside.

I also decided to scale back on blogging. I love it. It's my outlet and entertainment and you guys are friends that I seriously care about, but it takes so much time! I have a teeny tiny blog. I don't know how the huge ones manage. I normally share 4-5 posts a week, but for a while it'll probably be three. I haven't been the best about reading, commenting, and emailing every day and that probably won't change. I'll probably be waiting until the weekend to catch up on yours and write for mine. It sucks. I feel disconnected when I do that, but I really need to focus on myself and my family during the week until I feel more content with how things are going. I hope you stick around, I promise it won't be as whiny and boring as this was!

I'm having a hard time keeping up with my blog lately. Too tired at night after work so then I don't know when to do it. I really don't know how the "big" bloggers do it either. It is like a part time job. 3 posts a week is good!

Welp, where do we start on this post...

David Walton - cutest S EVAR.
Britney in Vegas? Yes please.

As for the blogging scaleback, do whatever feels right, I'm coming off of a little hiatus myself and am really happy to clear my mind about it a bit.

Something must be in the air, I'm having a hard time keeping up with my blog lately too. It wears me out some weeks. I've had to pare down what I read daily and push more stuff to read on the weekend. I have a bunch of pretty much written posts but the five days a week has been hard for me, even though I pushed myself to get here from three. I might need to go back down to four. I don't have enough time at night and I don't want to get up any earlier.

I feel the same about Beyonce and don't give a crap about the backlash.

I just this weekend learned about the Harlem Shake, so thanks for the Fire fighters and Happy Endings, I hadn't seen those!

Scaling back on blogging will help you SO much! It has helped me a lot. It takes away so much anxiety. And you are not a bad mom! You are learning, as you should be! My nephew has gone from dinosaurs, to seaworld animals, and now to wrestling. I miss his interest in the nerdy things, but I know deep down inside it is still there!

Those videos...I just watched them all. NOT THAT I'M BIASED but I love love the SeaWorld one! I know I'm late to the game, but do you know where the original video is?

I don't like Beyonce either. Yes she is crazy talented but I don't care for her. Big hugs friend! Do whats best for you and your fam. We aren't going anywhere :)

About a Boy will be such a good show. Definitely one to look forward to.

I don't like Beyonce either. She's overrated and annoying.

If you feel like you need to scale back, do it. We're here and not going anywhere.

I love About a Boy! I wonder what it will be like as a TV show.
Also, I agree about Beyonce. Just because you're awesome doesn't mean you have to act that way. I don't like arrogance.
I hear ya about anxiety, too! It can just take over...ugh. Relax, pretty lady! :) Everything will be fine :)

So much to comment on! I love the guy from New Girl, so I'll probably watch About A Boy just for him.

Did someone mention a movie with Christian Bale? I'm there.

The Harlem Shake vids kill me. I could watch them all day. I also want to be in one.

Yay for Britney and Adele in Vegas! I need to start saving some serious cash.

Beyonce -- I love her and I hate her. I get that she's arrogant. I don't disagree at all. I hate her until I watch her perform and then I want to bow down.

And boo to blogging less, but I understand. I guess I'll just have to read someone else's blog first. ;)

An 'About a Boy' series?! Best news of the day!

I know! a 13th month old reading, really! Yeah right! :)

I'm just not finding enough time to blog these days either. Sucks, but it's true.

I bet the baby reads better than Beyonce does. Just kiddin'. I just don't like her. At all.
And. I'm one of those people that actually does not think she has a good singing voice. I know!
Anyway. Yay for blogging less. I mean, boo, but yay because I know what you mean.

Lol I agree with the Beyonce thing. I'm getting tired of her. And her excuse that she was too busy to practice for Inauguration Day? Not uh. That's the most important day of your career. Bad excuse. I love the pictures and her publicist is the reason they are all over lol!

My co-workers were sending me Harlem Shake videos last week and I just didn't get it lol. I looked up the definition on Urban Dictionary. Oh em gee the explanation lol!

And you are an amazing mom! And your boys know that and love you!! Things will get better and you'll get answers. I'll miss your posts but I'll still email/twitter stalk you if need be ;)

First off, you are a GREAT mom, don't ever doubt that for one second. The fact that you are so involved and worried about the things they eat, watch, wear, etc means you are a great mom!! Those boys love you so much no matter what you do so don't forget that! I really hope you're all feeling better and I totally understand the blogging thing. I feel like I force myself to blog about bs just to stay "in the loop" but I'm getting over it. You deserve a break, enjoy your boys!! I won't be going anywhere :)

And I am with you 100% on Beyoncé! I was actually so excited when those pictures were released! hahaha
