Moisture

I need a new moisturizer and who better to turn to then my blog friends?

I’ve never had bad acne, but I’ve ALWAYS had that pesky monthly mini-breakout. The kind we all thought would go away after high school? Well, I’m 33 and they’re still coming every month! For the past few years my skin has been worse than ever. Oily one day, super dry the next. I blame pregnancies. Nothing is quite the same after having a few babies.

In high school I washed my face with Noxzema. To this day, if I smell it, a flood of memories enter my mind: old boyfriends, friends, and summer sunburns. In college I switched Apricot Scrub, until my beauty expert friend told me that it literally cuts the top layer of skin off your face. Not my thing. Then I experimented with other drug store brands (Olay, Neutrogena, Biore), I used Clinique for a while, and even tried Proactive, which totally killed my face. As embarrassing as this is to admit, I use Clearasil Daily Face Wash. I can’t find anything that works better for me and it's like $4, so I'm not complaining!

clearasildailyfacewash Clearasil Moneymaker Deal @ Walgreens!

What I do want to invest in is a good moisturizer. I've tried just about every drug store brand and some are ok (I'm using Aveeno right now), but I haven't fallen in love. I'm afraid to test out a bunch of makeup counter brands because that can get expensive, but I am willing to pay for something that works. I have combination, but sensitive skin, I don't like strong scents, I'm super pale so I need SPF, and like I said, I'm 33, so something for these wrinkles would be amazing.

Do you have any recommendations? What do you use?
Help!

I have heard of using coconut oil. I have not personally used it but I'm going to start. Currently I use Eucerin. Which I love but I feel like now I need something more.

I have no advice for you. I'm in the same boat you're in!

No shame, I use Clearasil too and LOVE it!! As for moisturizer, I really need help too so I'll be checking back to see what other people recommend to you. haha

I used that apricot scrub once and it totally hurt!

I'm in the same boat as you. 32 and need a combination of everything. Saying that, I LOVE Mario Badescu products. They're sold at Ulta and don't cost a ton. I use the aloe moisturizer with SPF in it and an anti aging cream at night. The seaweed face wash is gentle but works great. Hope it helps!

I'm clueless when it comes to this type of thing ... good thing one of my best friends is a beautician!
On her recommendation I've started using Dermalogica daily microfoliant ... it's great!

It's light and doesn't damage your skin plus you can use it every day.
A little also goes a long way so while it may be a bit on the pricey side it's worth it. (I have no idea where to buy it in the States but you should be able to get it or try online)

As for everything else (face wash & moisturizer etc) I swear by Kiehl's

I use the exact same cleanser. It's cheap and it works. Why change?

I would go to Sephora and pick up a bunch of samples. Nothing is worse than buying a full size product only to find it breaks you out, gives you Sahara face, etc.
