Road Trip - Dollywood

My sister, friend and I flew into Knoxville, Tennessee last Sunday night, got our super cheesy rental car (Mazda 5 Sport), drove to Pigeon Forge and checked into our hotel. The next morning we woke up bright and early to spend the day at Dollywood. It was exactly like I imagined it would be. Dolly’s music was playing throughout the park. It was decorated and designed to look like the old frontier. There were mills and trains and country cooking.

It was a beautiful 75 degree day and the park was pretty empty. My sister is pregnant and my friend is a big ol’ wuss, so I had to do a few thrill rides alone, which is lame. I was able to get on all the rides with no line at all. We took the rest of the afternoon easy, eating snacks and walking around. We got to go inside one of Dolly’s old tour buses and we spent quite a bit of time in her museum. We also took a train ride up the Smoky Mountains.

We left the park around 4:00 and ran for the nearest Cracker Barrel where we all ate breakfast for dinner! We went swimming in the hotel’s pool and then called it a night. We had to get up early the next day to drive to Nashville.

SOOOoOOOOO JEALOUS!
I'm from Knoxville, TN (and hubs has us stationed in upstate NY). Dollywood is the bomb! Did you ride Tennessee Tornado?

My favorite ride is the indoor mini rollercoaster. I can't remember what it's called...I want to say Blazin' Fury or something like that.

I'm a wuss too. I don't do scary rides.

This is another thing I didn't get to do :(

My friend and her boyfriend were fighting so we went back to Nashville lol!

The thing I loved the most about my trip to Nash/Knox was the people. I have never encountered friendlier people in my life!

Glad you had a great trip!!
