More Musicals

I just bought my 2012-2013 subscriptions to Seattle’s two theaters!

At The 5th Avenue Theater I’ll be seeing:

I can't wait to see Memphis! It started here at The 5th before it hit Broadway. I've never heard a bad thing. I'm also so excited for The Music Man. It was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. You know, the one with Ron Howard. I'll be seeing The Addams Family a few days before Halloween and Elf (yes, based on the movie) in early December with Jacob. They should both be really cute. I also had Jersey Boys in my subscription, but I've already seen it so my sister is taking a friend instead.

At The Paramount Theater I’ll enjoy:

The Book of Mormon is the number one musical on my must-see list. I’m so excited to see it and it'll be on my birthday! War Horse will be my first play. I’ve only seen musicals before, so it’ll be different, but I’ve heard such good things about it. Flashdance should be fun. I’ve never seen the movie, but I do know the soundtrack (you know the songs, too! Maniac and What A Feeling). Fela! looks awesome and it was up there on my list too. Sister Act should be a lot of fun. I’m going with my sister and childhood friend because we all loved, sang and quoted that movie constantly as kids.

FUN! I've heard excellent things about The Book of Mormon. One of our local theaters has West Side Story right now, and I'm DYING to go. I may just go by myself one night after work. Tickets are like $90 but they do same-day tickets for $30 (I guess to fill the seats), so I'm really thinking I might just walk over one evening after work and do it. I've always wanted to see that on stage!

Wow, this is a really good line up of shows! I haven't seen any of them, other than "Music Man", but I've been wanting to see all of them. It's been too long since I saw a musical again! I'm trying to wing a weekend trip to NY at some point this year to see "Newsies" though! I have a feeling it'll be great! So basically your lucky!

Sounds like a cool lineup. I LOVE The Music Man. One of my very favoritest musicals of all time.
